The Alpha course is designed primarily for people who aren’t churchgoers. It's been attended by millions of people across the UK and by many here at Hope Church in Sevenoaks.
People attend the course for a variety of reasons. Some are seeking to find out the meaning of life or find out about different faiths. Some have perhaps been to church in the past but haven't felt they've understood what the Christian faith is all about. Others like to come and just listen to the discussion.
Alpha is a great opportunity to get questions answered in an unpressurised and informal environment. No areas are off limits.
Alpha is a free nine-week course and is run from January to early April, here at Hope Church. The evening kicks off around 7.45pm with puddings, a selection of cheeses and coffee so you can get to know other people on the course and a speaker will then give a short talk which looks at a different aspect of Christianity each week.
This is followed by a time of discussion, which is a great time for you to ask any questions you have and share your thoughts and opinions.
We look at a variety of subjects including; Is Jesus really the only way to God? Does Prayer work? How can we have faith? However, questions can often take the discussion into a variety of other areas.
While we run the evening Alpha from January, we do also sometimes run a daytime course depending on demand. If you would like to come on either the evening or a daytime course, or just want to find out more, please get in touch.
