Pete & Sarah Benton News Update

September-October 2017
We've enjoyed praying for and observing Berlin from a distance in this last month. Fun events like the Berlin Marathon, and key moments like the German elections have taken up a lot of news reports and social media posts. We truly believe God wants to do an incredible thing in this amazing city and nation. Please join us as we pray for God to be glorified and many lives transformed by Jesus in Berlin.
During September we have enjoyed a travel ban (encouraged by others but enforced by ourselves). Normally we'd travel back and forth to the UK to attend the New Ground Academy in London. However during September and October we'll be guests at the Academy base run by Redeemer in The Hague. This is to help our energy levels with less time travelling, and to enjoy more time connecting with Redeemer. Travelling less has also given us a more realistic taste of what life will be like based in a new place. As well as staying connected to New Ground via the Academy in London, we have been travelling back to the UK to spend time with family. Therefore, we are super excited to have Georgia come and stay with us during October. Sarah will also be visiting her family in Bremen during October, and Pete's parents are joining us at the Berlin prayer day Saturday 28 October. We want to grow in gratitude and will therefore start sharing items we are grateful for in these prayer newsletters. We'll add thanksgivings growing an attitude of gratitude before God as we seek Him in prayer.

Thanks:

Provision - We are so grateful for God's continued provision. We are thankful for specific timely financial gifts that people have blessed us with over this last season. It's been a huge help with our budget and some unexpected expenses.
Support - God continues to encourage us via the prayers and support from friends and family across New Ground, Redeemer The Hague, and JCC East Grinstead. We feel SO blessed to have amazing men and women of God cheering us on, standing with us and supporting this adventure.
Prayers:

20 Adults -  We would love to see God add another 16 adults to our existing team of 4. We want to land in Berlin in 2018 with a church planting team that grows together from day 1. Please Pray God speaks to people about joining this church planting adventure. Pray God gives us faith and wisdom as we invite people to join us.
AZC - Pete's Redeemer football club with guys from the local Refugee Camp has moved into a small school hall for the winter. Pray for continued friendships and support for this community. Pray for wisdom as we seek to share the love of Jesus with guys predominantly from an Islamic background.
Check out this months Video update.

Grace & Peace,
