Understanding Domestic Abuse

Domestic abuse is said to affect one-in-four women and one-in-six men living the UK.

Often verbal and emotional, not just physical, some endure the impact of abuse for years without knowing what to do.

This seminar seeks to help victims and those in pastoral roles to further undertstand what can be done to identify and help with this problem.

Run by the Community Domestic Abuse Programme (CDAP) the seminar will include a male & female survivor, as well as a man who has been through the perpetrator programme explaining what CDAP has done for him.

It will also cover coercive controlling behaviour as well as physical, sexual, emotional & physiological abuse, and look at what we can do to support those affected by it.

There is a £10 charge for attendance, and lunch is provided.

CDAP is funded by the three local autorities of Tonbridge & Malling, Sevenoaks District & Tunbridge Wells Borough Councils.

Domestic Abuse Volunteer Support Services (DAVSS) will showcase the services they provide for all survivors of abuse in West Kent.
