Prayer is an essential activity for all Christians, and so Hope Church gives it high priority with a number of opportunities for people to engage.
For those around during the day, a prayer meeting is held every Wednesday at 10am in the Hope Room. This regularly starts with worship and the use of the prophetic is encouraged alongside praying for the church and specific needs that arise.
Monday mornings are also given over to prayer with four prayer 'slots'. Each slot lasts one hour with the first beginning at 9am and are held consecutively with the last starting at 12 noon. Anyone is welcome to join in one or more of the slots just by turning up. These can be great times of seeking God for personal or corporate breakthrough, while requests for specific needs can also be passed on to those in the next slot.
We also hold an evening prayer meeting on the second Tuesday of the month. Starting at 7.30pm this gives opportunity for those at work during the day.
Should urgent prayer needs arise during the week, there is also opportunity to send requests into the office so that these can be passed on to a prayer chain and given focused attention.
On top of this people are encouraged to develop their own active prayer life as part of becoming mature Christians. Some in the church seek out friends and pray with them during the week as and when it suits them.

When we pray with others who are also filled with the Spirit, a supernatural thing starts happening amongst us – a greater faith level, an encouragement of one to the other, a charismatic thing. God wants to energise us in prayer.Terry Virgo
