The Alpha course is a wonderful way of exploring faith and the meaning of life. It's been attended by millions of people across the UK and by many here at Hope Church in Sevenoaks.
People attend the course for a variety of reasons. Some are looking at the purpose of life or at exploring the role of faith, while others have more specific questions. Some have perhaps been to church in the past but haven't understood what Christianity is all about and want more explanation. Others like to come and just listen to the discussion.
Alpha is a great opportunity to get questions answered in an unpressurised and informal environment. No areas are off limits.
Alpha is a free nine-week course and is run throughout the year here at Hope Church. The evening usually starts around 8pm either online or in person and a speaker will then give a short talk which looks at a different aspect of Christianity each week.
This is followed by a time of discussion, which is a great opportunity to ask any questions you have and share your thoughts and opinions.
We look at a variety of subjects including: Is Jesus really the only way to God? Does Prayer work? How can we have faith? What about evil? However, questions can often take the discussion into a variety of other areas.
Hope Church usually runs evening Alphas throughout the year and we also sometimes run a daytime course depending on demand. If you would like to come on either the evening or a daytime course, or just want to find out more, please get in touch.
